Silent AuctionOperation Smile is a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with IRS rules and regulations. The price paid for the purchase of an item at the auction constitutes a charitable contribution if the purchase price is greater than the fair market value of the item, property, or service provided. Bidding must stop when the auction officially closes. The bidder should fully understand their responsibilities before placing a bid and should make sure they understand the details or conditions of item on which they are bidding. Operation Smile reserves the right to accept a bid at any time. Operation Smile also has the right to reject a bid if conditions or the situation warrant such. All auction items are sold “as is” and Operation Smile makes no warranties of any kind concerning the use and safety of goods or services, including, without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The buyer bears the entire risk of the quality, performance, and safety of the donated items. This information is intended to provide general rather than specific information. It should not be interpreted as legal, tax, or financial advice. Please consult your financial advisors for specific advice on tax issues. All items must be picked up at the end of the evening. In the event that the bidder does not pick up an item at the end of the auction, it is their responsibility to arrange pick up of the item. If the winner chooses to have the item shipped, they must pay the cost of shipping and delivery, with payment due in advance. If arrangements are not made within one week after the event the winning bidder forfeits the right to that item and the next highest bidder will be contacted. All auction payments are non-refundable. |
